Herman Miltenburg died in a hospice "De Sporen" for the terminally ill.

He was 84 years old and had cancer of the lungs. His wife died a few years ago and he had no children. Janny van Marlen, a close friend of him and his wife, helped him through this difficult time. The last ten weeks before his death he stayed in hospice “De Sporen”, of which time he said “I haven’t lived so full since a long time”, and where he made some very good friends. Among which Pastor Paul Potting, who stayed with him during his last night. Herman allowed me to follow him, during the last days of his live and to follow his body after his death. Herman died a week after we met. He was an intelligent, very well balanced person, with a nice sense of humour. This former senior police officer left a lasting impression on me.
